Special education, also called SPED, special ed, aided education, alternative provision, exceptional student education, or special day class (SDC), is the practice of educating students in a way that accommodates their individual differences, disabilities, and special needs. This involves the individually planned and systematically monitored arrangement of teaching procedures, adapted equipment and materials, and accessible settings. These interventions are designed to help individuals with special needs achieve a higher level of personal self-sufficiency and success in school and in their community. This may not be available if the student were given only access to typical classroom education. Special education aims to provide accommodated education for students with disabilities such as learning disabilities or difficulties (such as dyslexia), communication disorders, emotional and behavioral disorders, physical disabilities (such as osteogenesis imperfecta, down syndrome, and muscular dystrophy), developmental disabilities (such as autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disabilities) and other disabilities. Students with disabilities are likely to benefit from additional educational services such as different approaches to teaching, the use of technology, a specifically adapted teaching area, a resource room, or a separate classroom altogether. Measuring student perceptions of motivation and engagement with Kahoot!: a case study in primary education in Portugal.. The integration of digital tools in teaching remains a challenge for many educators, often due to resistance to change and limited training. Drawing on Self-Determination Theory, as proposed by Deci and Ryan, and Cognitive Load Theory, developed by Sweller, this exploratory study examines student motivation and engagement in a gamified learning environment. Specifically, it explores students' perceptions of the use of Kahoot! in the classroom and the extent to which the tool may add value to the teaching and learning process. The study involved 20 fourth-grade students an…

Intelligent evaluation and feedback mechanism based on student behavior data in the context of integrated education.. Artificial intelligence has been promoted in education, but traditional teaching evaluation and feedback mechanisms still cannot start from students' classroom behavior, resulting in poor accuracy and low efficiency. In integrated education, educational goals not only focus on imparting knowledge, but also emphasize fairness and respect for individual differences among students. To improve the accuracy and fairness of teaching evaluation, this paper designs an intelligent evaluation system that integrates student behavior data. On the basis of You Only Look Once version 5 (Y…

The Montessori method of education is a type of educational method that encourages children's natural interests and activities rather than formal teaching methods. A Montessori classroom places an emphasis on hands-on learning and developing real-world skills, such as problem solving and helping and teaching each other. It emphasizes independence and it views children as naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a sufficiently supportive and well-prepared learning environment. It also discourages some conventional methods of measuring achievement, such as grades and tests. The method was started in the 20th century by Italian physician Maria Montessori, who develop…

Belonging in Reduced-Size Classrooms: Student Outcomes Among Chinese Upper Secondary Students With Intellectual and Other Documented Disabilities..
