Pełniejszy materiał źródłowy / excerpt
An architectural drawing or architect's drawing is a technical drawing of a building or building project that falls within the definition of architecture. Architectural drawings are used by architects and others for a number of purposes: to develop a design idea into a coherent proposal, to communicate ideas and concepts, to show clients the merits of a design, to assist a building contractor in construction based on design intent, to record the design and planned development, or to document a building that already exists. Architectural drawings are made according to a set of conventions, including particular views such as floor plans and sections, sheet sizes, units of measurement, scales, annotation and cross-referencing. Historically, drawings were made in ink on paper or similar materials, and copies had to be made by hand. The twentieth century saw a shift to drawing on tracing paper so that mechanical copies could be made more efficiently. The development of the computer had a major impact on the methods used to design and create technical drawings, making manual drawing less common and opening up new possibilities of form using organic shapes and complex geometry. Today, most architectural drawings are created using CAD software.

Contemporary architectural aesthetic preferences based on popular AI images and models of the Civitai architect community.. Architects often struggle to understand the architectural aesthetic preferences of their clients. At the same time, attention has been given to how individuals in artificial intelligence (AI) architect communities express these preferences. This study explores contemporary architectural aesthetic trends by analyzing content from the AI drawing platform Civitai. A multiphase research approach analyzed a dataset of 2,000 popular architectural images and 10 architectural models. In the literature review phase, 13 high-quality studies were selected to identify key indicato…

Breakthrough in architecture-Contemporary Iraqi architecture case study.. This research explores the concept of "architectural breakthrough " as an intellectual and design phenomenon capable of transcending traditional patterns and redefining the relationship between form, function, and meaning in contemporary Iraqi architecture. This research aims to construct a clear theoretical framework that explains the mechanisms of architectural breakthrough and its role in generating innovation and strengthening spatial identity within post-2003 Iraqi contexts. The research employs a qualitative, analytical, and comparative approach, integrating field observation, document analysis, and semi-structu…

Designing the syllabus for the EAP course "Architectural Art English": A needs and genre analysis-based approach.. This paper details the design and development of a discipline-specific English for Academic Purposes (EAP) syllabus for undergraduate students majoring in architecture and design related disciplines in an art school in China. Guided by the comprehensive needs analysis model established by Dudley-Evans and St. John [Developments in English for specific purposes: a multi-disciplinary approach. Cambridge University Press (1998)] and Swales [Genre analysis: English in academic and research settings. Cambridge University Press (1990)] genre theory, this study employed a university-w…

Digital documentation and virtual representation of built heritage using terrestrial LiDAR.. The Indus Valley Civilization, one of the oldest and most diverse heritages, must be meticulously preserved. We aim to utilize modern techniques and tools to conserve these extensive built heritage sites for the benefit of society and future generations. Accurate digitization through non-invasive and long-range imaging tools is essential for preserving and showcasing India's heritage on the global platform. These advanced methods capture intricate details, ensuring precise documentation of geometric, structural, and architectural elements, thereby maintaining their historical value. In this study, w…

A blueprint is a reproduction of a technical drawing or engineering drawing using a contact print process on light-sensitive sheets introduced by Sir John Herschel in 1842. The traditional white-on-blue appearance of blueprints is a result of the cyanotype process, which allowed rapid and accurate production of an unlimited number of copies of an original reference. It was widely used for over a century for the reproduction of specification drawings used in construction and industry. Blueprints are characterized by white lines on a blue background, a negative of the original. Color or shades of grey cannot be reproduced. The process is obsolete, initially superseded by the diazo-based white…

An engineering drawing is a type of technical drawing. A common use is to specify the geometry necessary for the construction of a component and is called a detail drawing. Usually, a number of drawings are necessary to completely specify even a simple component. These drawings are linked together by a "master drawing." This "master drawing" is more commonly known as an assembly drawing. The assembly drawing gives the drawing numbers of the subsequent detailed components, quantities required, construction materials and possibly 3D images that can be used to locate individual items. Although mostly consisting of pictographic representations, abbreviations and symbols are used for brevity and…

A shop drawing is a drawing or set of drawings produced by the contractor, supplier, manufacturer, subcontractor, consultants, or fabricator. Shop drawings are typically required for prefabricated components. Examples of these include: elevators, structural steel, trusses, pre-cast concrete, windows, appliances, cabinets, air handling units, and millwork. Also critical are the installation and coordination shop drawings of the MEP trades such as sheet metal ductwork, piping, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical. Shop drawings are produced by contractors and suppliers under their contract with the owner. The shop drawing is the manufacturer’s or the contractor’s drawn version based on t…

Plans are a set of drawings or two-dimensional diagrams used to describe a place or object, or to communicate building or fabrication instructions. Usually plans are drawn or printed on paper, but they can take the form of a digital file. Plans are used in a range of fields: architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, industrial engineering to systems engineering. The term "plan" may casually be used to refer to a single view, sheet, or drawing in a set of plans. More specifically a plan view is an orthographic projection looking down on the object, such as in a floor plan.
