Canon EOS (Electro-Optical System) is a series of cameras with autofocus capabilities produced by Canon Inc. The brand was introduced in 1987 with the Canon EOS 650, a single-lens reflex camera. Since then, EOS has become Canon's flagship series of interchangeable-lens cameras, with at least one new camera release each year. All EOS cameras used 35 mm or APS-format film until Canon introduced the EOS D30, the company's first in-house digital single-lens reflex camera, in 2000. Since 2005, all newly announced EOS cameras have used digital image sensors rather than film, with EOS mirrorless cameras introduced in 2012. Since 2020, all newly announced EOS cameras have been mirrorless systems. E…

The Canon EF-M lens mount, introduced in 2012, is a derivative of the Canon EF lens mount designed for use with the Canon EOS M mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera. The EF-M lens mount was one of Canon's two systems for mirrorless cameras, the other being the RF mount. The M system has an 18 mm flange focal distance (compared to 20 mm for RF and 44 mm for EF and EF-S) and a 47 mm throat diameter (compared to 54 mm for EF, EF-S, and RF). As it is designed for use with an APS-C-sized image sensor, it features the same crop factor (of roughly 1.6) as the existing EF-S lens mount. The EOS EF-M system was officially discontinued in October 2023. Canon had not released any new cameras or lense…

The Canon FD lens mount is a physical standard for connecting a photographic lens to a 35mm single-lens reflex camera body. The standard was developed by Canon of Japan and was introduced in March 1971 with the Canon F-1 camera. It served as the Canon SLR interchangeable lens mounting system until the 1987 introduction of the Canon EOS series cameras, which use the newer EF lens mount. The FD mount lingered through the release of the 1990 Canon T60, the last camera introduced in the FD system, and the end of the Canon New F-1 product cycle in 1992.
