WandaVision is an American television miniseries created by Jac Schaeffer for the streaming service Disney+, based on Marvel Comics featuring the characters Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch and Vision. It is the first television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise, and is set after the events of the film Avengers: Endgame (2019). Development of spiny and aspiny neurons in the caudate nucleus of the dog during the first postnatal month. Abstract The adult and developmental morphology of spiny and aspiny neurons in the dog caudate nucleus was examined using the Golgi‐Kopsch technique. In the adult, three types each of spiny and aspiny neurons were identified based upon dendritic morphology and cell soma size. They corresponded in large part to those neurons described previously in the caudate nuclei of the rat, cat, and monkey. At birth, dendrites of spiny neurons possessed varicosities, filopodia, and thick proximal dendritic stumps—all characteristic of immaturity. Maturation of these processes involved the thinning…

Novel Combined Approach for Vision-Preserving Iridociliary Tumour Excision in a Small-Breed Dog: Contralateral Iris Excision With En-Bloc Scleral Resection.. This case report presents the first application of a novel combined surgical approach incorporating contralateral iris excision with en-bloc scleral resection for managing a recurrent iridociliary epithelial tumour in a small-breed dog. A 7-year-old castrated male Chihuahua (3.2 kg) presented with a recurrent iridociliary tumour following initial biopsy. Vision-preserving surgery was performed using an innovative combined contralateral and postero-anterior approach with bipolar cautery for haemostasis. The technique involved initial pr…

Gene therapy induces synaptic ribbon maturation, synaptogenesis and vision recovery in an adult dog model of retinal degeneration.. The extent to which regeneration is possible in adult mammalian synapses remains an intractable question in neuroscience. Calcium interactions at the first retinal synapse are necessary for normal retinal development and vision. Calcium binding protein 4 (CaBP4) modulates these interactions, and mutations in CaBP4 or the voltage-gated calcium channel lead to similar forms of visual impairment. We identified a spontaneous mutation in CaBP4 in dogs that results in synaptic loss of function, immaturity of synaptic ribbons, and disorganization and thinning of the o…

The dog (Canis familiaris or Canis lupus familiaris) is a domesticated descendant of wolves. Also called the domestic dog, it was selectively bred during the Late Pleistocene by hunter-gatherers. Dogs and the modern gray wolf share a common ancestor. Dogs were the first species to be domesticated over 14,000 years ago, before the development of agriculture, though genetic studies suggest the domestication process may have begun over 25,000 years ago. Due to their long association with humans, dogs have gained the ability to thrive on a starch-rich diet that would be inadequate for other canids. Dogs have been bred for specific behaviors, sensory abilities, and physical traits. Dog breeds va…
